STC  is higlighting Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation work, alongside a whole host of ICT products and services at GITEX Technology Week.

“STC is the main enabler of the transformation in the kingdom. We are keen to show the Saudi youth who are participating in GITEX, the inspiring success stories related to information technology,”  Riyadh Mouwad, senior vice president, enterprise, STC.

Mouwad flags cyber security as especially crucial with the growing threat of hacking. “At STC, we are able to provide technology services that give enterprises a high degree of safety to protect their data. These services include managed firewalls, antivirus defender systems, and detect and prevent intrusion services.

Through its managed internet security services, STC also offers off hours support, detect and defend services and continuous management of enterprise systems and services.

The power of 5G was also evident on the stand. During the last Hajj season. STC installed the fifth-generation network technology in 196 locations across Medina and Makkah and the holy sites to provide special services, technologies and digital solutions to guests of the Holy Mosque, and participating entities during Hajj season.

“STC recorded the highest usage on its networks because of early preparations and expansions this year, considered the largest in the history of the holy sites,” said Mouwad.

“This expansion has proved their effectiveness at peak hours with tremendous growth in the volume of traffic hitting a peak of 137% compared to last year, while 4G growth was over 173%,” said Mouwad.
