Technology is key enabler for Dubai Airports growth
"Technology has helped improve passenger experience and services,"- Paul Griffiths, CEO, Dubai Airports.
Over the past 10 years O, under Paul Griffiths’ leadership, Dubai Airports has built up traffic and passenger numbers three-fold. The CEO of Dubai Airports, who was speaking on the 10X Stage at GITEX yesterday, emphasised that technology was a key business enabler.
“It’s not about infrastructure, it’s about creating an environment for people to easily transit from the ground to the air and we spend a lot of time and effort trying to make that transition as easy as possible,” Griffiths adds.
A key component in easing that transition has been the adoption of technology. The team at Dubai Airport has focused on how technology can change the way airports are run, through “great pieces of software”, that share information across territorial boundaries. This move has helped to dramatically improve customer service and create a better proposition for passengers overall.
Annual passenger growth leapt from 32.5 million to 89.4 million last year reinforcing Dubai International’s position as one the busiest of airports in the world.
