Cisco displays real world tech

" Cisco has paired with RTA for a road transport case study," - Al- Zoubi, CTO, digitalisation and innovation, Cisco.

Gitex, Gitex Technology Week, Cisco

Cisco is showcasing real world examples of its digital transformation applications in the GCC at GITEX. Under the theme of ‘experience digital disruption in action’ Cisco is demonstrating its latest AI, machine learning, IoT sensory information and video analytics technologies.

“We partnered with the Government of Dubai — RTA — and have displayed a transport use case scenario,”  Osama Al-Zoubi, CTO, digitalisation and innovation, Cisco. “Through our technology, we eliminate fare evasion, where we use technology with data analytics to ensure passengers check out after their journey. This prevents multiple passengers from passing a gate by using data analytics that instantly detects the card was scanned just once. This contributes to safety and crowd-flow management.”

Al-Zoubi added: “[We are showcasing] the transformation of tourist experience from entering the city to getting all their services — safety and security using video analytics around the entire venue and all the different facilities associated with their visit.

“Along with the UAE, Saudi Arabia has taken giant steps towards digitising the country and providing e-government services. KSA embarked on the digital transformation three years ago and during this time it has taken giant steps in comparison to other countries.”
