A panel discussion at Huawei Innovation Day discusses 5G.
The fourth huawei middle East Innovation Day was held yesterday on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week. ICT experts from government, telecom and enterprise sectors gathered to discuss key industry topics – including artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, ecosystem development and more.Alaa ElShimy, managing director and vice president, EBG Business at Huawei Middle East said Innovation Day 2019 is focused on two key areas.
The first one was on the Huawei AI chipsets launched last year but now fully integrated into all of Huawei products as well as being implemented in a number of vertical solutions.
“We have a number of customers who shared with us their experience on our AI solutions. Seeing is believing; hearing from customers who have implemented the solution is going to make a difference for the end users because they can learn from the experience,” Elshimy.
Huawei also shared new use 2019cases for combined 5G and AI, along with the ecosystem. “I think that’s the key message this year; we are increasingly leveraging the ecosystem to build different solution for the different verticals utilising the combination of 5G and AI,” said ElShimy.
“The third area, which is the most important, is where we are going to share our compute strategy, how our market is evolving and what we are doing about it,” said ElShimy.
“Ultimately, we believe that connectivity and compute are the two key technologies that are going to help us achieve this, which aligns with our vision to have a fully-connected intelligent world,” ElShimy said.
