Blocko made its GITEX debut yesterday, less than a week after announcing its business and technology partnership with
SEED Group, a member of the private office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum. The Samsung-backed vendor is bringing its Aergo public/private blockchain platform to the region to offer enterprises and governments a ‘simpler’ way to integrate the technology into their existing infrastructure
“Our partnership with SEED Group and entry to the UAE will address the most demanding problems being faced by organisations entering the advanced digital ecosystem with blockchain solutions,” Phil Zamani, co-CEO of Blocko and CEO and founder of Aergo.
Since launching the Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021 in April 2018, the UAE Government has been assessing integrating the digital ledger technology in an effort to reduce costs, improve security and boost efficiency. Dubai, Government plans to shift all bill payments, license renewals and visa applications, to blockchain 2020. According to Smart Dubai, this transformation could save 25.1 million manhours valued at over Dh5.5bn per year.
“The UAE and the wider Middle East region are constantly seeking advanced blockchain solutions for government and digital services,” said Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of SEED Group and The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum. “We recognised Blocko and Aergo as a solution to satisfy the increasing need for companies working at the highest level of scale and security,” he added.
