Ericsson brings a 5G future closer to reality at GITEX
Demonstrations of numerous use cases will enable show visitors to GITEX to explore 5G business models at Ericsson’s exhibition area.
Ericssonhas made its presence known at GITEX Technology Week 2019 with its latest implementation of 5G technology. The vendor is showcasing the latest 5G use cases that build on its theme of ‘experience 5G’ as a platform for both businesses and consumers. At its stand, attendees can experience several of Ericsson’s demos that demonstrate how 5G connectivity and 5G low latency can enable a whole new suite of applications that range from virtual reality to augmented reality.
Ericsson is also showcasing future concepts through examples of connected cities, remotely operated vehicles, more efficient and automated manufacturing, immersive sports and connected healthcare, as well as transformational TV and gaming experiences. According to Fadi Pharon, senior vice president, Middle East and Africa, Ericsson feels that the adoption of new technologies is growing at a higher rate compared to the rest of the world
. “In 2019, we’re seeing the early launches of 5G, in 2020 and 2021 is where we’ll actually see an uptick. It’s also very dependant on the industry side and the collaboration between the service providers, the business models that come through and the acceptance of digitsation.” he added.
It’s an ongoing journey for Ericsson, the company has been investing in 5G since 2011 and eight years later, they’re at the forefront of being the game changers.
