Innovative Italian Tech at GITEX Technology Week
The Italian Trade Agency welcomed the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, Italian Consul General in Dubai and the Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan to the official opening earlier today
Eleven Italian start-ups have started the week strong, showcasing their products and meeting potential partners at the opening day of the 39th GITEX Technology Week in Dubai.
The Italian Trade Agency’s Pavilion was officially opened earlier today by His Excellency Nicola Lener, Italian Ambassador to the UAE; Her Excellency Valentina Setta, Consul General of Italy in Dubai and Gianpaolo Bruno, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan.
The UAE Ministry of Economy has recently signed an MoU with the Italian Government to engage in activities to promote start-up ecosystems in both countries through cross fertilisation and networking.
A selection of Italy’s promising tech start-ups are showcasing solutions that will help a range of sectors from teachers and parents in education, to VR production of videogames, to online shopping.
In addition, there is a dedicated area in the Italian Trade Agency’s Pavilion for Apulia (a region in the south-east of Italy), which is hosting seven start-ups from the area. The Apulia Regional Government actively supports inward investments, business innovation and research and has created a world class innovation eco-system.
The seven businesses include Beach Scanner, BusForFun.com, Cinemagica, Evholo, ParkForFun.com, Predict and Marshmallow Games. The seven start-ups will be supported by Puglia Sviluppo S.p.a., the regional development agency.
