UPS and world bank partner to support female entrepreneurship in the MENA region

UPS will give e-learning modules across different topics in e-commerce to help women run their SMEs and expand their business. They will also be providing discounts in shipping.

UPS and world bank partner to support female entrepreneurship in the MENA region

The World Bank and UPS Corporate announced a new partnership to facilitate and cultivate women entrepreneurs in the Middle East so that they can grow their businesses through accessing e-commerce platforms.

“By making e-commerce platforms more accessible, this partnership addresses a key constraint faced by women business leaders in reaching new markets,” said Ferid Belhaj, World Bank Regional Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa. “E-commerce platforms create opportunities, and we must ensure these opportunities are open to women-owned businesses across the region.”

The partnership extends to over 750 women entrepreneurs and will train of e-commerce advisors across the region to provide solutions. The partnership will work with entrepreneurs in Algeria, Djibouti, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia.
