Etisalat’s new campaign sees a skydiver use 5G from 15,000 feet

Etisalat has demonstrated its 5G tech with an interesting campaign

The objective? To see if Red Bull skydiver Dani Roman could download a 4GB program whilst freefalling and complete the download in time to open the parachute. On an average, skydivers need to deploy their parachute after 30 seconds from 15,000 feet.

Etisalat partnered with local Youtuber Mohammed Al Kaabi, with his UAE Skills channel to showcase this and achieved it in record time for Roman to open his parachute in time.

To compare, a 4G connection would download only 0.75 GB within the same time.
