Leading systems player Sun Microsystems has opened a new Sun Training Centre at Dubai Knowledge City.

Leading systems player Sun Microsystems has opened a new Sun Training Centre at Dubai Knowledge City.

Dr Thomas Bayer, Sun’s chief learning officer for South and East EMEA, said the centre was a crucial step forward in creating opportunities for partnerships between the company and both UAE government and educational bodies. “We will be able to present local programmes to build competitive IT skills for students and communities,” he claimed.

All instructors at the centre are certified for the training courses offered by Sun. These will include custom course development and training need analysis.

Joachaim Reith, managing director of implementation partner 2KnowIt, said that Sun’s regional customers would particularly benefit from the centre. “This partnership will allow Sun Microsystems to close an important gap in building the right skills within its regional customer and partner base and ensure advanced IT solutions,” he claimed.
