Japanese consumer electronics vendor Sanyo reported its fourth consecutive quarterly loss in the three months to December 31.

Sanyo reported that net profits were down  nearly US$60 million compared to the corresponding period in 2005.

Sales fell 3.1% to US$4.8 billion, with disappointing domestic sales predominantly accounting for the decline.

Despite a 4% increase in overseas sales, Sanyo’s consumer electronics division struggled, with sales dropping almost 10% for the quarter compared to 2005.

Sanyo predicted that its bottom line for the full-year ending March  is expected to reach US$411 million in losses.
