The Cisco subsidiary is targeting its first foray into the storage world at the small office/home office (SOHO) and small business user.

The line-up, unveiled last week, includes the NSS4000 and NSS6000 two four-bay gigabit network storage system (NSS) chassis without hard drives and the NSS4100 and NSS6100 with four 7200rpm 250Gbyte hard drives.

All four Raid-enabled systems include features such as on-disc file encryption, network Snap Shot and self-monitoring analysis and reporting technology (Smart).

“Each NSS offers a small business the ability to select the storage configuration that best addresses its model with management features that help provide data integrity, file protection, security, and reliability,” said David Tucker, senior director of product marketing for Linksys’ Connected Office Business organisation.
