Marketing given boost at Sun

Sun Microsystems has hired a marketing manager to cover the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Sun Microsystems has hired a marketing manager to cover the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

In her new role, Deena Habib will be responsible for the promotion of the Sun brand across 19 countries in the Gulf and Levant markets, as well as Pakistan.

Habib takes over from Graham Porter, who left the company to join Cisco.

Sun said Habib would take charge of driving the marketing of the vendor's products and services, vertical industry and partner initiatives, and PR and marketing communications throughout the region to support Sun's business goals.

"Deena brings a wealth of experience to her new position as Sun's regional marketing manager, and is qualified to suit the significant responsibilities she is about to undertake," said Chris Cornelius, managing director of Sun Microsystems MENA. "She possesses valuable experience in both channel and technology marketing, and in her previous positions at Sun, has displayed exceptional commitment and determination.
