Linksys honours tech data with distribution accolade
Tech Data Middle East chief Hanspeter Eiselt receives award from Cisco subsidiary Linksys as broadliner lands regional distribution title for second successive year.
Tech Data Middle East has walked away from Linksys' annual MEA awards event with a couple of gongs for its performance during the past 12 months.
The company scooped the fiscal year 2006 ‘best regional distributor' and ‘sales excellence' awards at a ceremony attended by Linksys' EMEA top brass.
Tech Data - which has now won the regional distribution title two years running - was presented with its award by Patrick Lelorieux, VP EMEA at Linksys, and EMEA sales chief David Kelly.
Mohammed Meraj Hoda, boss of Linksys' Middle East operation, was also on hand as Nabil Sheikh, Linksys product marketing specialist at Tech Data, was recognised for sales excellence at the event.
"Being recognised as the best amongst distributors across the region is an achievement we are certainly proud of," commented Sanjiv Mehrotra, sales director at Tech Data Middle East. "However, the credit goes to our channel partners who have helped us achieve this milestone. We have been recipients of the ‘best regional distributor' award for the last few years and this goes to show that the focus and level of engagement Tech Data's Linksys team enjoys with the channel is indeed second to none," he said.
Regional manager Hoda added: "Linksys' growth in MEA in the past three years has been outstanding and the vital role that Tech Data has played in this success story is undeniably significant. The ‘best regional distributor' award is in recognition of the very performance and contribution they have made towards our business."
According to Tech Data, its value added distribution arm Azlan has increased sales of Linksys products by 40% during the past year.
The unit - one of Cisco's largest distributors in the region - continues to play a major part in the company's Middle East strategy by delivering multi-vendor enterprise solutions.
