Aramex bolsters logistics arsenal
Spends US$1.5m on new system
Aramex has upped the stakes in the Middle East logistics sector by introducing a new wireless system that enables its ground couriers to transmit collection and delivery information through new mobile handheld scanners.
The high-tech system - which has cost the company US$1.5m to implement - is being used by couriers in Jordan, Lebanon and the Gulf countries. Aramex boasts a number of clients in the IT sector and the new equipment will give customers instantaneous delivery updates.
"Aramex has unrivalled capability in providing high-tech solutions for our ground courier services globally," said Samer Awajan, CTO at Aramex. "We have invested large resources in deploying this technology that enables us to oversee the entire delivery process from start to finish."
