CA says storage division let the side down in q3
CA is unhappy with the performance of its storage group following below par quarterly sales, the firm said.
John Swainson, CA president and chief executive, told reporters during a conference call last week that the firm was "not satisfied" with growth in its storage management software business, one of the ‘four pillars' of the vendor's product offering, during its 2007 fiscal third quarter.
Earlier Swainson said in a statement he was pleased with CA's performance overall, but his comments during the conference call have cast a shadow over the company's storage business.
Swainson blamed CA's indirect sales channel in particular for the performance of its storage unit, but said he was optimistic that it would turn around CA reported revenue of US$1 billion for its 2007 FYQ3, ended December 31.
