Kuwaiti operator Arab Telecom is deploying a broadband wireless network across the country.

The telco is to use Aperto Network's wireless PacketWave system to provide a range of services including WAN/LAN access, high-speed internet access and video conferencing to customers in Kuwait.

Other applications available through the platform include remote access, corporate intranets and extranets, file transfer, and interactive distance learning.

"After a thorough evaluation of several wireless broadband solution providers, we came to the conclusion that Aperto Networks had the most advanced and the most stable platform," commented Ahmed Ebraheem, Arab Telecom managing director. Ebraheem added that the company particularly rated the routing and advanced networking features of the platform provided by California, US-based Aperto.

The vendor has previously supplied its PacketWave broadband wireless system to Saudi Arabian telco Mobily.
