Avaya ME escapes staff cuts
Telecom infrastructure giant Avaya’s regional office said this week the firm’s latest layoffs will not affect the Middle East.
The world’s largest telephone equipment maker said earlier this week that it plans to cut 40 jobs in its Europe, Middle East and Africa operation and to close offices in the US to increase profitability.
However, the Middle East has been spared from the staff cull, the firm said.
“Avaya is not cutting jobs in the Middle East. In fact, we are actively increasing our headcount in the region, and we continue to enjoy strong double-digit growth here,” said Nidal Abou Latif, managing director for Avaya Middle East and North Africa, in a statement to IT Weekly this week.
