Only days after the Fortnite World Cup wrapped up, game developer Epic Games revealed that the next phase of their competitive Fortnite journey would reportedly involve the Fortnite Champion series—a tournament with "a persistent leaderboard where players can track their progress towards becoming the Seasonal Champion in each of the server regions," according to spokespeople from the Fortnite team in an official blog post.

Kickstarting on August 17, the tournament is said to last five weeks, in which teams will fight for dedicated prize pools every Saturday and Sunday as well as a chance to qualify for the season 10 championship. The top teams in each server region will then compete on September 20, 21, and 22 where regional season 10 champions will reportedly be crowned.

Epic Games also hinted at something they've dubbed the Fortnite Spotlight, for which they haven't revealed any details yet.
