Tencent Cloud releases cloud gaming solution
The cloud gaming service is said to alcove users to play purchased games immediately without downloading them.
Last Friday at China's annual digital entertainment expo and conference ChinaJoy, Tencent Cloud—a subsidiary of digital entertainment, AI, and tech company Tencent—announced the Tencent Cloud Gaming Solution—a cloud gaming service for game developers and platforms worldwide.
The service is said to allow users to directly start and play purchased games, instead of waiting to download and install the titles. Tencent Cloud Gaming Solution's head Yang Yu claimed that the company would be exploring varied cloud gaming possibilities, in which—in a similar vein to Stadia—audiences could interact with the streamer online without downloading the game when they're watching a live-broadcast game.
"Cloud gaming represents a new era, in which people can play anywhere", Yu said, adding, "Tencent Cloud Gaming Solution commits to offering stable, fast and high-quality technology service to game developers, contributing to our competitiveness in the market."
