Mobile device management (MDM) solutions provider AirDroid announced the availability of AirDroid Business on Tuesday.
AirDroid Business follows the company's personal MDM solution AirDroid, launched in 2011, and geared at allowing users to access and manage their phone from any computer, anywhere. Key features of the personal service include the ability to send SMS, view app notifications, transfer files, and fully control mobile phones via your computer.
Spokespeople from the company claimed AirDroid Business was "aimed at meeting the demand for businesses with employees at remote sites or in the field using Android mobile devices: smartphones, tablets, Point-Of-Sale (POS) systems, kiosks, digital signage, and any Android-based untended devices."
Features that are a part of AirDroid Business will reportedly include full remote control of any Android device anywhere, bulk remote file transfer, remote screen mirroring, the Application Management Service (AMS) toolkit for service and maintenance, and kiosk mode for kiosk users.
"Our research tells us that small businesses cringe at expensive enterprise mobile device management solutions that offer far too many valueless features," Anson Shiong, CEO of Sand Studio—AirDroid is it flagship product—said in a statement to the press. He added, "AirDroid appeals to the company that wants an easy-to-use mobile device management solution that fuses strategic and tacticadl smarts, delivering business vibrancy to each and every employee or contractor using an Android mobile device."
"Our MDM solution is especially useful for businesses that deploy Android devices in different locations where they need to perform periodic device upgrades, maintenances, send bulk file transfers, or monitor via camera surveillance. All of this can all be done remotely through AirDroid for Business," Shong concluded.
