Instagram will give a warning before it disables accounts

Instagram will be introducing a new notification process to help people understand if their account is at risk of being disabled.

Instagram has made changes to its Account Disable Policy.

Instagram says they will disable reported accounts more easily; currently, Instagram's existing policy is to disable disable accounts that have a certain percentage of violating content. They will now remove accounts with a certain percentage of violating content and will also remove accounts with a certain number of violations within a window of time similiar to Facebook holding people accountable on what they post.

They will also now warn users before their account is disabled. A new notification process to help people understand if their account is at risk of being disabled will be in effect.

This notification will also offer the opportunity to appeal content deleted. To start, appeals will be available for content deleted for violations among which are bullying and harassment, but Instagram will be expanding appeals in the coming months.

If content is found to be removed in error, they will restore the post and remove the violation from the account’s record. We’ve always given people the option to appeal disabled accounts through their Help Center but you'll experience it directly within Instagram.
