Facebook blames outage on server configuration change
Facebook says last week's record outage was due to cascading issues after server change
Last week's Facebook outage was due to a ‘server configuration change', according to the social media site.
Facebook suffered its worst outage in its history on 14th March, with many users unable to access the social media site, WhatsApp and Instagram for as much as 14 hours.
Disruption in the Middle East was limited, but the company did not give any explanation for the outage for over 24 hours, angering many users.
The company has now said that a server configuration change caused a cascading series of error which disrupted the services.
