Caviar merges iPhone XS and high-end mechanical watch
Caviar Grand Complications Tourbillon combines Apple phone with luxury watch
Luxury smartphone brand Caviar has created a new iPhone XS with a mechanical watch mechanism and a tourbillon.
The new handset is part of Caviar's Grand Complications Collections, the most technically complex devices from the luxury brand.
The Caviar Grand Complications Tourbillon features a mechanical watch with manual winder, set into the case of the phone.
The tourbillon, French for ‘vortex' is a mechanism inside the watch which negates the effects of gravity on moving parts, to give more accurate time-keeping. The watch mechanism was created by an unnamed, but well-known European manufacturer, Caviar said.
The design of the phone reflects astronomy, physics and philosophy and presents stylistically images of planets with their orbits.
The design includes composite stone of black and white color, as well as gold covering.
The Caviar Grand Complications Tourbillon released will be released in a limited edition of 99 models, with price starting at $8 350.
