Dubai Future Councils holds first meeting
Councils will support Dubai's development in areas including AI, blockchain and entrepreneurship
The Dubai Future Councils has held its first meeting, and stressed the importance of working together to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Dubai Future Councils has been founded to keep abreast of global trends and support their development in Dubai through the production of reports and proactive strategies.
The thirteen councils will focus on a number of areas, including blockchain, innovation and entrepreneurship, and AI.
The first meeting of the councils was chaired by HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Managing Director of Dubai Future Foundation.
Al Gergawi said: "Dubai Future Councils reflect Dubai's forward looking approach in shaping the future of governments, cities and societies; and develop a comprehensive vision for the future of vital sectors".
The Dubai Future Councils structure is composed of 13 councils with 10 to 15 members drawn from academia, business, government and industry.
The councils include groups for blockchain, Community Security, Education, Humanitarian Aids, Media, Transportation, Future Cities, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, Talents, Health & Wellbeing, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem, and Logistics.
