Aster DM Healthcare Group using Zebra mobiles for patient care
Dubai hospitals using Zebra mobile computers in a number of healthcare scenarios
Aster DM Healthcare Group (Aster) has adopted Zebra mobile computers for a multiple application for patient care.
The group has deployed Zebra computers in two of its Dubai hospitals, in intensive care units (ICU), catheterization lab and inpatient wards.
The computers are being used for identification and medication administration, verification and management, which supports nurses working at bedside and has improved levels of patient care and safety.
The Aster Group is an extensive private healthcare group of 19 hospitals in the Middle East, India and Philippines. The group already uses Zebra printers, scanners and wristband solutions for patient identification, and selected the mobile computers for their rugged capabilities.
"Technology and automation is the future of healthcare. Closed loop medication administration ensures we provide safer, enhanced patient care," said Dr Sherbaz Bichu, CEO, Aster Hospitals UAE. "With Zebra's healthcare solutions, we are moving toward a paperless environment in our hospitals. By becoming an intelligent hospital, we are increasing clinical efficiencies with electronic data and effectively managing medication administration."
"Zebra is delighted to build our relationship with the Aster group with this new clinical mobility deployment at its Dubai hospitals," said Thamer Nouri, Business Development Manager, Zebra Technologies Middle East. "As a regional leader in the adoption of digital technology, Aster is expanding its performance edge by using the latest solutions to provide the best patient care."
