HH Sheikh Hamdan visited GITEX and toured the stands.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairmain of the Dubai Executive Council, officially launched the 38th GITEX Technology Week yesterday.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed toured GITEX, which this year showcases the latest developments in information and communications technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, robotics, cloud computing, 5G and other emerging technologies.

"I am happy and proud of the fact that our beloved country has earned a good international reputation and world fame, especially among specialised companies, businessmen and investors, who are looking for security, safety, decent living, care and economic feasibility of their projects and investments. Not to mention the laws and regulations that safeguard these rights and interests," His Highness said.

During the tour, Sheikh Hamdan viewed the stands of several local and international technology companies, as well as international pavilions.

His Highness also inspected the activities of the third GITEX Future Stars 2018, which is being held on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week. The event aims to startup companies and the startup eco-system, by bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, investors and buyers from around the world. Over 700 startups are expected to participate at GITEX Future Stars, along with 400 investors from across 30 countries.

Accompanying the Dubai Crown Prince were Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence; as well as a number of senior officials and heads of government departments.
