Supreme Legislation Committee prepares for GITEX
SLC will showcase its smart legislative services at GITEX
The General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC) will showcase its smart legislative services at GITEX Technology Week.
The SLC's smart legislative services and innovative smart transition initiatives designed to help make Dubai a sustainable smart city, bring happiness to the people, and promote the welfare of community.
The SLC will also be introducing its strategies and capacity development programmes aimed at instilling a culture of innovation and positioning Dubai as a model city of the future during the event.
His Excellency Ahmad Bin Meshar Al Muhairi, SLC Secretary General, said this year's GITEX will also be an opportunity to highlight the SLC's high-reaching strategy aimed at providing smart and innovative legislative services that are aligned with the objectives and goals of Dubai 10X to position Dubai 10 years ahead of other cities worldwide. He reiterated the General Secretariat's commitment to adopt smart transformation programmes with a view to supporting Dubai's bid to become the smartest and happiest city in the world by 2021.
"We are pleased to be one of the major entities participating in this leading international event. We will capitalise on the event's popularity to highlight our ambitious smart transformation plans and showcase our steps to strengthen the culture of innovation in the emirate as well as transfer and further broaden legislative knowledge in order to keep up with current and future developments. We aim to develop legislation that embraces the present and looks ahead to the future with a view to positioning the UAE as one of the leading nations of the modern world, in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, who once said: ‘Becoming number one is not impossible - the word impossible doesn't exist in our dictionary'."
Bin Meshar concluded: "The 38th edition of GITEX follows our successful participations in other events organised to accelerate Dubai's transition into a smart city, with the aim of bringing happiness to the people through the provision of highest quality government services. We will share best practices and expertise with our fellow GITEX participants to enhance the emirate's legislative processes and legal system in support of the goals of the Dubai Plan 2021."
