AI security solutions company Cylance has appointed Mohamed Helmy as regional sales director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META).

Helmy will lead growth in the region using Cylance's artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies.

Helmy brings 20 years of experience in IT technical and business management with particular expertise in information security, networking, telecommunications, and mobility. He comes to Cylance from IBM's internet security systems division and he has also held leadership roles in HP's enterprise group and MobileIron.

"Helmy joins Cylance at an exciting time as we continue to grow in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa-a region with higher average growth rates than parts of Europe," said Stuart McClure, Cylance founder and chief executive. "We continue to build centres of excellence around the world, and Helmy's experience will be invaluable to our expanding team of experts in the META region."

In addition to Helmy, Cylance also welcomes Jamal Al-Nabulsi as regional partner manager and Sameh Sabry as solutions architect. Al-Nabulsi brings extensive sales and channel experience from his more than 15 years with leading global organisations such as HP, Cisco, and FireEye; Sabry is an awarding-winning information security executive named as one of the region's foremost technical decision makers.

The Cylance META team is based in Dubai and will support organisations in the region with on-premise and cloud hybrid solutions ideal for customers evaluating next-generation alternatives to their existing endpoint security products.
