HBMSU launches smart advisor for students
Smart Advising System to help students select courses, follow study plans
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has launched a smart advisor system to guide students in their academic courses.
The Smart Advising System has been launched for the Autumn intake of students, to guide them in the process of selecting learning courses and academic programs according to their desires, skills, and academic results.
The Smart Advising System has been initiated by HBMSU as a result of its Innovation Lab for smart learning.
The system offers a smart dashboard which maps the study plan that each learner must pursue and complete as a requirement for graduation, while also following up on their curriculum. The system also acts as interactive communication platform between students and a smart and central facilitator.
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, said: "The Smart Advising System results from our commitment to establish our pivotal role as a leading center to envision the future of education in the UAE, by laying the pillars of innovation, creativity in the knowledge industry and adopting a culture of sustainable development, that is guided by the unlimited support and continuous guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University.
"There is no doubt that the quality-focused step is paving the way for the facilitation of the learning journey starting from the registration stage and through all the academic learning levels using smart technology and artificial intelligence, in a strong push to translate Dubai Plan 2021 goals into building a ‘smart, integrated and connected city.
Al Awar added: "We have worked continuously in developing a smart, integrated, personalized, innovative and interactive advising system that provides accurate guidance related to academic programs and training courses for each learner in a practical, round-the-clock manner, which is based on the objectives of the ‘Dubai Smart City' initiative that was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE Ruler of Dubai. We are confident that the new system will be a paradigm shift in the re-engineering of education by devising new ways of managing the education and training system in line with future requirements, in conjunction with our aspiration to elevate the competitiveness of the smart learning sector and provide better education for the future innovators in the Arab world."
