Saudi Arabia rolls out 800,000 smart water meters
Saudi Arabia is rolling out smart water meters.

Saudi Arabia has installed nearly one million smart water meters, half of the planned amount, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Water authorities have deployed 878,729 electronic meters in several cities across the Kingdom. More than two million smart meters, along with associated infrastructure, are planned as part of the project.

Smart water meters are being deployed to support automated billing, reduce the percentage of water loss, and to provide real time monitoring of water supplies and ensure that customers are receiving the service.

Improvements in the efficiency of water supply were mandated in the National Transformation Program 2020.
