The UAE AI Summer Camp by Microsoft begins in Dubai
Initiative seeks to build a generation capable of running artificial intelligence-based technologies
Over 250 students have attended the first session of the AI Summer Camp run by Microsoft at the Dubai Future Accelerators Hub in Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
Announced in May this year, the UAE AI Summer Camp aims to promote the concept of artificial intelligence and build capacities of government staff and national youth in the field of AI.
“Experts forecast that 85% of the jobs that will exist 2030, do not exist today, while a study released by the UN shows that AI could help develop 21 million jobs in future.” said Necip Ozyucel, cloud & enterprise group lead, Microsoft Gulf. “Artificial intelligent has already made it to mainstream across every industry, demanding for a workforce that drive results across their organisation. Upskilling our youth today, will have a significant impact on tomorrow, and our participation at the AI Summer camp reiterates that. We look forward to contributing our efforts to support UAE in this effort to harness the power of AI, nurturing a future-ready workforce, to accelerate innovation and increase economic competitiveness.”
The workshops, held in collaboration with learning partner Koenig Solutions, will continue from 8th to 12th of July targeting learners from high school and universities. The sessions are divided into two batches: the first batch takes place in the mornings and is focused on covering an overview and basics of artificial intelligence for those with no coding experience. The afternoon sessions are for advanced learners and will cover the fundamentals of AI, including applying coding and machine learning scenarios.
