The upcoming Future Blockchain Summit, which takes place in Dubai on 2-3rd May, will include a Global Blockchain Startups Marketplace.

The marketplace will host local and international blockchain-based startups seeking to showcase their solutions and attract investments.

Almost half of all the organisations taking part in the Global Blockchain Startups Marketplace are from outside the UAE, with companies attending from Estonia, Serbia, Singapore, China, India, UK, USA and Australia.

Firms at the Future Blockchain Summit include: Block Gemini, a Dubai based blockchain development and consultancy firm; and Medical Chain, a platform for electronic health records. Other notable startups in participation are: Arabian Chain Technology, Alissia, VR 360 Tech, Block Obi, FEGI (Future Edutainment Games Innovator), SettleMint, and Xeru.

The two-day event at DWTC is expected to bring together over 5,000 global blockchain experts and technologists, including Alex Tapscott, CEO and Founder, Northwest Passage Ventures; Dr. Larry Sanger, Co-founder, Wikipedia; two-time Grammy Winner Imogen Heap, CEO, The Featured Artists Coalition; and Brock Pierce, Founder, advisor, mentor and board member of GoCoin, Tether, EOS, BitGo, ChangeTip, BlockStreet, Coin Congress, and Plug and Play.

Strategic Partners include DarkMatter, Dubai Land Department/Emirates Real Estate Solutions (ERES), Etisalat, GCOX, Relam Investment, VR All Art and The Blockchain Group. Other partners include Dubai Economy, Dubai Municipality, Duwaya Investment, Microsoft, NEM, Wasl Properties, Apla, Avanza, Block Gemini, Oracle, Dubai Health Authority, Evoteq, Hacken, Mobilebridge, Nynja and TILLpayments.

The Summit also features the  Smart Dubai Blockchain Challenge Grand Finale and Award Presentation on 4th May, where 15 blockchain startups from around the world are competing for a $20,000 prize and the chance to meet investors and potential customers.
