Dubai Police, Riverbed extend partnership to boost innovation in IT services
The agreement strengthens the existing relationship and will focus on introducing newer technologies
Dubai Police has extended its relationship with Riverbed Technology to boost and drive technological innovation in IT services and infrastructure.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) will see Riverbed focus on innovative technical solutions for the development and upgrade of both applications and infrastructure, whilst training Dubai Police staff.
Riverbed will also share new ideas and expertise to drive Dubai Police's artificial intelligence strategy.
Brigadier Khalid AlRazooqi, general director of Artificial Intelligence Department and CIO, at Dubai Police said: "Our objective is to be the best police force in the world and for this we are keen to implement cutting-edge solutions, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning."
He added: "We were highly impressed by this visit and our excellent experience and relationship with their Middle East team. Having MoUs with key technology partners from around the world, such as Riverbed, gives us the confidence that we will achieve our goals."
Jerry Kennelly, chairman and chief executive oifficer at Riverbed, added: "The Dubai Police is taking the lead in embracing futuristic technologies in line with the Smart Dubai 2021 Plan, which seeks to transform the Emirate into a fully-fledged future-ready smart city. Dubai Police is already working with Riverbed in helping the police force establish IT applications for internal staff as well as for engagement and delivery of services to citizens of the Emirate.
