HSBC UAE customers overcharged due to computer error

HSBC UAE customers took to social media to express their anger

HSBC UAE customers overcharged due to computer error
HSBC UAE suffered a technical glitch.

A glitch in HSBC's computer system has resulted in some customers in the UAE being overcharged.

HSBC UAE customers reported that on using their Visa cards they were charged up to three to four times extra the amount due.

The transactions that took place on 2 December were affected by a technical error resulting in to customers taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

HSBC has released a statement reassuring customers that they will be reimbursed for any potential losses due to the error.

HSBC UAE released a statement on its Facebook page.

"We have identified an issue related to some transactions made on the 2nd of Dec on HSBC Visa cards. We are in the process of rectifying the issue and we want to assure our affected customers that we will reverse any incorrect amounts, fees and charges that resulted from this issue. We regret any inconvenience caused."
