Friends now have even more ways to quickly join each other’s live videos with the new update

Instagram now lets you join a friend’s live video
Instagram adds new live video feature.

This year Instagram had been testing ways to let friends live steam together and now the feature is a permanent fixture on the platform.

The photo-sharing app now enables friends to join in on the live stream and ‘hang out' together. The idea is that users can now connect in real-time even when they are not physically together.

To use this feature when watching a live stream, simply select the ‘Request' button in the comments section. If the user approves the request the screen will split into half, and the feature offers users to leave the stream at any time.

If a user is hosting their own live stream they will see a notification and will have the option to accept or cancel the request. Additionally the new icon will have two smiley faces and a red number showcasing how many requests there are. Also, a guest can be removed at any time.
