Qualys urges ‘built-in’ security for the digital enterprise
CISO delivers keynote at RSA Conference 2017 urging security officers to align their objectives with the business
Success of cybersecurity strategies in organisations depends on bringing security into the business equation, attendees of the RSA Conference 2017 heard.
During his keynote, Qualys chief information security officer (CISO) Mark Butler said by aligning security with new technologies and innovations, today’s CISOs can help deliver business growth, while continuing to enhance the security posture for their enterprises and thwart attacks.
Security teams thus need to speak the language of business, and changing their mindset to create business value as well as reduce risk.
Qualys was also keen to highlight how DevSecOps can be leveraged by IT teams to focus on the principles of speed, agility and visibility. Doing so allows CISOs and their teams to be confident in addressing executive leaders on the question of how to align business and IT security goals.
“Our goal at (RSA Conference) was to share with attendees some of the major trends impacting their hyper-connected businesses, and what they can do to build security into their digital transformation initiatives, for greater agility, more reliable and scalable outcomes, and substantial efficiency savings,” said Butler.
