ITA and Oracle sign agreement for e-transformation
ITA Oman and Oracle sign MoUs on cloud, entrepreneurship and graduate training
The Information Technology Authority (ITA) has signed several agreements with Oracle to develop the infrastructure for digital transformation projects and to develop entrepreneurship and skills in Oman.
Under the agreement, the ITA will look to deploy Oracle cloud solutions for infrastructure and e-transformation projects in line with the e.oman strategy. The ITA has chosen a suite of Oracle Cloud solutions to create a robust IT infrastructure that will power the ITA's g-Cloud initiative for various e-transformation projects.
The pair also signed agreements to support SME development in the Sultanate, including Oracle's support for the Sas Centre incubation hub. Under the entrepreneurship program, Oracle will guide Omani startups on the importance of cloud technology to achieve business objectives, with mentoring programs, expert talks, and workshops, along with access to the Oracle Partner Network.
Oracle also signed to launch an IT graduate program, which will provide a customised program of training for Omani IT graduates, to provide them with skills related to cloud technology which will help them to build a career in Oman's fast growing IT industry.
The agreements were signed today by Dr Salim Al Ruzaiqi, Chief Executive Officer, ITA and Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, Senior Vice President - Tech, Middle East and Africa, Oracle.
