Emirates NBD selects Gemalto's Smart Pass
Smart Pass service means customers no longer have to wait for One Time Passwords
Emirates NBD customers will now benefit from Gemalto's mobile security platform, offering swift authentication.
The Gemalto Mobile Suite now includes its ‘Smart Pass' service which aims to speed up the authentication of digital banking transactions by eliminating the One Time Password process which comes through SMS.
To activate Smart Pass, customers will need to activate the service via their smartphone where they will receive a four digit PIN. Thereafter, when making a transactions and notification is sent to mobile and customers can confirm the purchase by entering the PIN.
Abdulla Qassem, group chief operating officer, Emirates NBD, said: The implementation of our ‘Smart Pass' solution leveraging Gemalto's Mobile suite helps us offer a new level of digital banking security for our customers, a crucial step forward in our digital transformation plan."

The Gemalto Mobile Suite also protects Emirates NBD's other online and mobile channels, such as depositing a cheque electronically by sending a digital photograph via the bank's mobile app.
