The UAE's Freedom Pizza has adopted Apple's near field communication (NFC) payments service, Apple Pay.

Now that Apple Pay has officially landed in the UAE, Freedom Pizza customers who have either an iPhone, Apple Watch or Mac device, can pay for their pizzas using the new service.

Customers can simply link their debit or credit card to Apply Pay, additionally the cards are not stored on the app itself or Apple's servers. Instead a Device Account Number is assigned which customers can only use once.

Ian Ohan, CEO and founder of Freedom Pizza, said: "We are extremely excited to bring Apple Pay to our customers, giving them a new, convenient and secure payment choice on our awesome online ordering and mobile apps."

At present, there are more than 20 million contactless-ready locations globally where Apple Pay is live - including more than 4.5 million locations accepting Apple Pay in the US alone.
