DigiRobotics launches fire fighting drone at GITEX
Launches the region's first autonomous drone for fire fighting operations
DigiRobotics, a local company specialising in AI robotic and autonomous solutions, has launched the region's first autonomous drone for fire fighting operations at GITEX Technology Week 2017.
"During GITEX we'll be signing new collaborations with Dubai Civil Defence and launching three new products and applications, including the Middle East's first autonomous drone for fighting skyscraper fires. Not only does the drone enable fire fighters to respond faster, but it's also safer because it is unmanned," says Kollina Hanskehian, senior project director, DigiRobotics.
"This is our largest ever exhibition at GITEX, with our stand occupying the entire plaza area to display all our new launches and products during the past year," she added.
The second application displayed this year is the first autonomous truck with a robotic mobile platform and automatic lift that will move the robot from inside the truck to outside. "This will enable a first response capability in situations where fire fighters may be put in danger in tackling the initial outbreak," explains Hanskehian.
Both the drone and the truck are equipped with a compressed fire fighting foam system.
This year DigiRobotics is also collaborating with DP World on an autonomous container truck that has been deployed at Terminal 3 in Jebel Ali Port. It is equipped with a full array of sensors and radar to enable it to operate within a series of loops at the terminal. "We have also developed the first automatic fuel depot where the truck can be refuelled without any human involvement," says Hanskehian.
