Cloud vital for digital cities
Taman: Cloud will form the fundamentals for increased competitiveness

Infor is highlighting its CloudSuite offering to support business competitiveness and digitalised cities in the region at this year's GITEX Technology Week 2017.

The Middle East cloud applications market is expected to grow from $887.5m in 2015 to $2.4bn by 2020, at an estimated Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 22.1% to 2020. This is driven by the need for businesses to optimise operations and costs, and to reduce the complexities of process-oriented industries including manufacturing, retail, healthcare, public sector, and hospitality.

Infor, which provides specialised cloud-based business applications, is in a good position to deliver cloud application solutions across industries in the region, says Tarik Taman, general manager, IMEA, Infor. "As the Middle East moves towards greater economic diversification, cloud will form the fundamentals for increased competitiveness in key industry verticals as overall expenditure on digital technologies continues to rise. We are already seeing the digital transformation drive sweeping various industries with CIOs prioritising investment in the cloud."

Zahid Group, a diversified business with 4,000 employees, has launched the first phase of Infor's M3 solution. "In collaboration with Infor, we have simplified, standardised, and transformed our previous business practices to achieve Zahid Group's operational excellence goals. Given the depth and breadth of Infor's solutions, this is the ideal opportunity for us to transform the entire organisation and become even more competitive through the increased visibility of critical business information, the smooth flow of data between departments, and streamlined business processes across all of our sites," says Barig Siraj, chief information officer, Zahid Tractor and Heavy Machinery.
