HH Sheikh Mohammed visits GITEX Technology Week

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited GITEX Technology Week, which opened yesterday at Dubai World Trade Center.
His Highness toured the exhibition and was briefed on the world's latest technologies that were showcased by the biggest technology companies.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, HE Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Major General Talal Hamid Belhoul AlFalasi, and Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
This year's GITEX includes over 4,100 exhibitors, from over 70 countries. The GITEX Conferences will welcome over 126 speakers, hosting 230 sessions across eight key verticals, while the GITEX Future Stars event, which is focused on the startup ecosystem, has attracted 700 entrepreneurs and innovators from 75 countries.
The technology showcase, which is being held under the theme of ‘Re-Imagining Realities: Discover, Transform and Innovate', is highlighting how converging technologies and disruptive business models can solve problems for businesses and everyday life.
Under the banner of ‘GITEX is Everything Tech', this year's event showcases 17 specialist technologies, including blockchain, artificial intelligence, drones, robotics, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
