Al Maqta Gateway creates digital ports community
Fully digitalised Port Community System (PCS), Al Maqta Gateway, at GITEX Technology Week
Abu Dhabi Ports is demonstrating its new fully digitalised Port Community System (PCS), Al Maqta Gateway, at GITEX Technology Week.
Al Maqta Gateway, has delivered a fully integrated system to manage and monitor all cargo passing through Abu Dhabi Ports, including land and sea links.
Dr Noura Al Dhaheri, Maqta Gateway General Manager, explains that the service goes beyond simple digital services, to provide a complete ecosystem for stakeholders: "In order to serve trade better, you need to go beyond the port, by looking not just at digitalising Abu Dhabi Ports' services, but to collaborate with all stakeholders who form the port community - customs, immigration, food control, other inspection entities, transport entities.
"We have built a system that will integrate with stakeholder's systems to provide a single window for the customers. It is a mini-e-government that goes beyond our services, to form a complete end-to-end service for import and export," she adds.
At GITEX, Al Maqta Gateway will highlight 44 new services which have been added to meet the requirements of companies which have factories and warehoues in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) and other free trade zones under Abu Dhabi Ports. The new services create complete visibility of shipments from dockside to the factory, giving stakeholders complete insight into their supply chain.
In future, Dr Noura adds, Al Maqta Gateway will be expanded to increase integration with air and land cargo links and free zones.
Al Maqta Gateway will also be offering new business intelligence dashboards, to give stakeholders greater insight into their processes, and will also bring more services to mobile platforms where appropriate.
