French Pavilion to feature 20 companies at GITEX
French Tech Pavilion is hosting 20 French technology companies at GITEX Technology Week
At the French Tech Pavilion located in Hall 4, Business France, the national agency overseeing the international development of the French economy, is hosting 20 French technology companies at this year's GITEX Technology Week.
Covering a wide-range of technical specialisations, which include smart city technologies, Internet-of-Things, virtual and augmented reality, 5G networks, and artificial intelligence, the group of companies present at the French Tech Pavilion include 10 French startups.
Fayssal Majid, head of the French Tech pavilion at Business France, said: "We see GITEX to be the region's strongest platform to share knowledge and to showcase the best in French technologies and are offering the exhibitors a tailored program to support their development in the Gulf. By taking part in GITEX, strong ties will be developed with local leaders while also introducing French innovation throughout the world of technology."
According to Syntec Numérique, France's professional trade-union, the French digital sector is expected to increase by 3% in 2017. A continuation of last year's positive growth of 2.9%, the growth of digital sector has been attributed to the digital transformation of the economy.
Syntec Numérique also noted that market growth for software surpassed last year's expectations (3.4%) and is expected to grow substantially in 2018 (4.2%). The tradeunion also reported that the SaaS model in particular, is expected to account for 18% of the market and at a value $2.4bn (€2.1bn).
