Topaz Energy & Marine implements Orange connectivity solution
The integration enables the maritime company to connect with its fleet at sea in real time.
Orange Business Services has signed an agreement to deploy its Maritime Connect solution for Dubai-based Topaz Energy and Marine. The solution will allow Topaz to connect with its fleet at sea in real-time, while also simultaneously supporting the company's network.
While initially connecting 39 Topaz vessels with the inception of the three-year agreement, Orange is expected to roll out Maritime Connect across all of Topaz's 110 vessels by the end of 2018.

"Historically in the maritime sector, limited connectivity and the need for multiple communications providers has meant the exclusion of fleets from the centralised business processes, ultimately resulting in reduced productivity. With Maritime Connect, Topaz can integrate its ships with the shore and is able to transform them into branch offices at sea."
At the heart of implementation, Orange's Maritime Connect platform comprises of multiple connection mediums, which include VSAT, L-Band terminals, 3G/4G and Wi-Fi.
Once connected, Topaz's management will be able to use dashboards to monitor fleet status in real-time, observing variables such as fuel consumption and speed, as well as maintenance issues as they arise.
Orange's platform call comes equipped with maritime bandwidth management and optimisation features. This enables the platform to handle voice, video and data in situations where bandwidth is limited and even operate in severe weather conditions.
