Dubai Land Department (DLD) is set to participate in the Cityscape Global real estate expo in Dubai, to promote its strategic plans and programs.

DLD will be highlighting its smart applications and services for investors to help a secure and sustainable real estate environment in Dubai during the event, which takes place from 11th to 13th September.

Sultan Butti bin Mejren, General Director of DLD, commented: "We are delighted to continue our support of ‘Cityscape Global' as a strategic partner for the exhibition in 2017. Our presence will enhance transparency among investors and help exhibitors to abide by the regulations that are designed to protect the rights of all parties.

"Our platform will be the first destination for visitors, especially those looking for investment opportunities as this year's exhibition allows developers to sell on-site to their customers. We will be contributing to achieving the objectives of the exhibition by spreading awareness of Dubai's real estate culture, laws and legislation, and guiding visitors to use our smart applications and benefit from the services we provide to this sector. What matters to us most is ensuring that when investors are considering making a purchase, there are a set of convenient real estate procedures in place to facilitate the process."

The education arm of DLD, the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), recently announced a training course held in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to focus on the intersection of real estate technology and innovation.

The course, which takes place on 11-12th September at DREI headquarters, is intended for real estate analysts, mortgage lenders, real estate developers, asset and property managers, portfolio managers, lease brokers and sales brokers, to educate them on the impact of technology on the sector.

Mahmoud El Burai, Executive Director of DREI, commented: "This course represents an excellent opportunity for professionals in the real estate sector, as it will allow them to benefit from the exceptional expertise of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - one of the world's most prestigious and well-known institutions. The course is aligned with DREI's mission to provide the real estate market with the latest technologies and studies, and has been designed to allow attendees to explore the ways that technology can improve customer services and ensure that transactions are completed with high accuracy, ease and speed."

The course will focus on a variety of topics including upcoming technologies that are expected to have a significant impact on the real estate sector. A number of recently launched technologies will also be reviewed for their potential to contribute to innovation in the real estate sector. The lecturers will provide an in-depth overview of the opportunities that have been provided by modern technology, and also cover important trends in the real estate environment and how creativity can be stimulated to maintain leadership.

Al Burai added: "This course reflects many of DREI's objectives, particularly our goal to support the government's vision of exploring the future and making Dubai the smartest city in the field of real estate. On the course, participants will not only be looking at current technologies, but also trying to anticipate the future and pinpoint how we can improve our operations in line with technological progress. We are confident that the course will help us in our mission to disseminate real estate knowledge across a variety of segments."
