Careem, ServiceMarket to offer discounted rates on home insurance
In the aftermath of the recent Torch Tower fire, Careem and ServiceMarket team up to offer discounts
Careem and ServiceMarket have paired up to encourage residents to buy home insurance by offering a 15% discount.
In the aftermath of the recent Torch Tower fire, Careem is working with insurance provider ServiceMarket as a survey revealed that 90% of Dubai residents do not have home insurance.
Careem is offering its customers 15% off their annual policy if they sign up by 31 August using the promo code ‘CAREEM'.
Emre Guclu, head of Insurance at ServiceMarket, said: "We often see a significant increase in home insurance sales immediately after such fires. However, it's important that all residents consider the risks and purchase home insurance cover to protect themselves against such incidents. After all, no one can predict what might go wrong when."
Guclu futher explained that: "It is a common misconception that you do not need home insurance if you are renting. However, tenants should have insurance to protect their own belongings and to cover themselves against any liabilities in case something should go wrong. Without home contents or personal possessions insurance, if your belongings are lost in a fire or any other unfortunate event - including burglary - you will get nothing back."
Bassel Al Nahlaoui VP of Business Development and Government Relations at Careem, added: "As movers of people and things, we feel it's our responsibility to be there when disasters happen so that we can offer our support. With the recent fire at Torch Tower, we realised just how vulnerable many of our customers and employees are when it comes to being covered for damages and lost personal belongings.
"We reached out to our partners at ServiceMarket and they were more than happy to help offer special rates to Careem customers in a bid to get them to act sooner rather than later. Anything we can do to help raise awareness on the importance of protecting your home, we are more than happy to be a part of."
