Apple plays catch up and joins Instagram

The new account features a series of photos from iPhone photographers

Apple plays catch up and joins Instagram
Apple launches its own Instagram account for iPhone photography.

Apple has joined Instagram, and its handle is of course @apple.

Apple is not new to Instagram as it already holds several accounts, however it did not have an account to showcase iPhone photography.

The account features the work from iPhone photographers and complies it into an Instagram album adding a sound bite from the photographer. Apple also invites other Instagram users to join in with the #ShotoniPhone.

The ‘Shot on iPhone' is a slogan Apple has used before, in particular on billboards across the world.

To feature on Apple's Instagram account, simply tag the photo with #ShotoniPhone and Apple may consider using your photo. However the company does state that it will never take photos without the photographer's permission and it will not feature product galleries, commercials or company marketing on the account.

To date, the Instagram account has 335k followers. To follow the account, click here.

Apple's other Instagram accounts includes Apple Music, iTunes, Beats 1, iBooks, Carpool Karaoke and Planet of the Apps.
