LG targets millennials with Q6 smartphone
The LG Q6 is designed to meet the needs and expectations of millennial customers worldwide
LG Electronics latest smartphone is designed to meet the expectations of today's millennials with its mid-range price point.
The Q6 is the first model in the Q series from LG that caters for consumers who want a device that offers LG's technology but at an affordable price.
LG has taken aspects of the G6 and implemented it in the Q6, such as the FullVision display which offers a bezel-less display. It features a 5.5" FHD and full Vision display, allowing the user to divide the screen into square windows, either vertically or horizontally.
The device's metal frame is constructed of 7000 series aluminium, a strong alloy commonly used in the aerospace and marine industries, with rounded corners to dissipate impact energy when dropped.
The LG Q6 was designed with MIL-STD 810G in mind, a standard that tests and measures devices for their reaction to temperature extremes, rain, humidity, sand and dust to determine their suitability for use by the United States military.
LG has factored in battery safety also as it has incorporated a thermal pad cooling system within the device and key components are placed with space between to minimise internal heating.
Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: "We designed the Q series based on extensive research into what millennials want from their smartphones. The LG Q6 delivers the key features of our flagship smartphones at an exceptional price that will appeal to young consumers' world over."
The device is expected to reach the Middle East in the next few weeks.
